West Side Ave began with an imperative—to address the lack of exposure to business and entrepreneurial experiences within students’ day-to-day classroom experience. With the belief that through encouraging young people can provide innate talent, vision, and creativity in an engaging business community. Training and employing students offers a key solution to economic exclusion and has a resounding effect on their lives, their families, and their community.
West Side High School has continued to bring leadership and vision to an underserved community within Newark and has excelled as a youth and community resource, serving our youth in professional and life-changing endeavors. West Side Ave will continue to develop opportunities for youth to utilize creativity, professionalism, and innovation preparing them for a brighter pathway for education and the workforce.
